The Challenge: 

The property’s severely dilapidated exterior presented the greatest obstacle. The brickwork was deteriorating, with many bricks beyond repointing repair, and the windows required replacement, but had to be custom-made due to their unusual dimensions. Additionally, the front and rear building entrances had to be renovated to match the potential modernised appearance of the building.

Project: External refurbishment and windows replacements of an entire building Project Overview: 

The block management agency of this luxury apartment block in a prime London location requested an inspection and estimate from British Builders as the building was in need of external renovations to renovate the building’s brickwork and replace the windows. The client desired a high-quality renovation to increase the property’s value and entice high-calibre tenants.

 

The Solution: 

The client hired British Builders due to our track record of delivering successful projects and the positive references they received from British Builders’ previous clients. The BB’s project team thoroughly inspected the property and developed a plan to deliver the project within the agreed time and budget with the client.

The work scope of the undertaken project included the following tasks:

Scaffolding: The project team utilised scaffolding to securely access the building’s upper floors safely. They erected the scaffolding and assured its security and usability. The scaffolding enabled the team to complete the task in a safe and efficient manner.

Repointing and brick repair: The second phase of construction involved replacing the building’s sash windows. To secure the glass panels, the project team removed the old sealant and replaced it with new sealant. Additionally, they repaired any damaged wood frames and ensured the windows were operating correctly.

Painting front and rear elevation: The third phase consisted of decorating the building’s communal areas throughout the entire building. In order to enhance the property’s cosmetic appearance the project team sanded down walls and ceilings, washed the surfaces with appropriate chemicals and applied a high-quality paint. They ensured that the paint’s colour was identical to the original paint colour.

 

The Completion:

The renovation project was completed before schedule and on budget. The building was renovated to a high standard, thereby enhancing its aesthetic appeal and heat efficiency. The external renovations assisted in attracting quality tenants, according to our client, the outcome was extremely successful.
