Multi-Trade Remedial Works — Waterlooville
Project Overview
British Builders carried out a series of multi-trade remedial works at a residential property on Covert Grove in Waterlooville. The project focused on improving safety, usability and general property condition across both internal and external areas.
The approved works included door adjustments, plumbing reinstatement, handrail repairs, bathroom ceiling treatment, external step repairs and paving slab re-bedding. Although the works were targeted, they required coordinated attendance across several areas of the property to complete each repair safely and neatly.
Scope of Work
- Inspection of reported internal and external defects
- Adjustment of the main front entrance door
- Repair and refitting of the front door threshold seal where required
- Replacement of the lounge door latch and handle mechanism
- Reinstatement of the washer/dryer water supply connection
- Securing and stabilising of the internal stair handrail
- Mould removal and treatment to the bathroom ceiling
- Localised repainting to the affected bathroom ceiling area
- Repair and refixing of the external timber handrail
- Re-bedding of the affected external step
- Lifting and re-bedding of the trip hazard paving slab
- Minor making-good to disturbed areas
- Final testing, safety checks and clean-down
Challenges & Solutions
- Multiple repair areas — The works covered doors, plumbing, bathroom decoration, handrails and external paving. Each item was inspected and repaired using the most suitable method.
- Door operation issues — The front door was adjusted for smoother opening and closing, while the lounge door handle and latch were replaced to restore secure operation.
- Safety-related repairs — The stair handrail, external handrail, step and paving slab were repaired to reduce movement, instability and trip risks.
- Bathroom ceiling condition — Mould was removed from the affected ceiling area, treated and repainted to leave a cleaner and more hygienic finish.
Final Outcome
The completed works improved the property’s safety, function and overall condition. The front entrance door now opens and closes correctly, the lounge door operates securely, and the washer/dryer water supply has been reinstated.
The internal and external handrails were stabilised, while the affected step and paving slab were re-bedded to create safer access around the property. The bathroom ceiling was treated and repainted, leaving the area clean and better presented.
All work areas were checked, made good and left clean, tidy and safe upon completion.
