Bathroom Flooring Replacement — Dean Road

Project Overview

British Builders carried out bathroom flooring replacement works at a residential property on Dean Road. The works focused on removing the existing damaged floor finish, checking the exposed floor area and preparing the bathroom for a more suitable replacement surface.

The bathroom included visible pipework, a toilet position, basin waste connections and worn wall finishes around the lower areas. The project involved careful flooring preparation, installation around plumbing penetrations and a neat final finish with suitable threshold detailing to make the room safer, cleaner and more practical for everyday use.

Scope of Work
  • Protection of access routes before starting the flooring works
  • Uplift and removal of the existing bathroom flooring materials
  • Inspection of the exposed floor area around the toilet, basin and pipework
  • Preparation of the subfloor before new flooring installation
  • Localised making good around pipe penetrations and bathroom edges
  • Installation of new bathroom-appropriate wood-effect flooring
  • Cutting and fitting flooring neatly around waste pipes, supply pipes and room corners
  • Installation of threshold trim at the doorway for a clean transition
  • Reinstatement and checking of the toilet position where required
  • Final clean-down of the bathroom floor and surrounding work area

Challenges & Solutions
  • Restricted bathroom space — The works were completed carefully within a small WC area, allowing for accurate cuts around walls, pipework and the toilet position.
  • Existing plumbing penetrations — Flooring was measured and cut around the basin waste, vertical pipework and toilet connection to achieve a neat and practical finish.
  • Uneven and previously disturbed floor area — The subfloor was checked and prepared before the new bathroom flooring was laid.
  • Need for a cleaner doorway finish — A threshold trim was fitted to create a tidy transition between the bathroom floor and adjoining carpeted area.

Final Outcome

The old bathroom flooring was removed and replaced with a cleaner, more suitable floor finish. The new flooring was fitted around the toilet, basin pipework and wall edges, giving the room a more complete and usable appearance.

The doorway transition was finished with a threshold trim, and the bathroom floor was checked for stability and level presentation. The work area was left clean and tidy on completion, with the room ready for continued use and any separate follow-on plumbing or decorative works if required.
