EICR Remedials — Nottingham

Project Overview

British Builders attended a property on Topliff Road, Beeston, Nottingham to complete a set of EICR remedial works following an electrical inspection. The job included consumer unit improvements, circuit identification, labelling, outdoor lighting replacement and the safe disconnection of a damaged alarm panel.

The photos show the consumer unit before and after inspection, exterior access areas, the removed outdoor lighting, the newly installed flood light and the completed electrical checks. The works formed part of a wider electrical safety upgrade to bring the installation to a satisfactory condition.

Scope of Work

• Supplied and fitted a Legrand 6A RCBO for the upstairs lighting circuits
• Identified the relevant circuits within the consumer unit
• Checked and updated circuit labelling where required
• Replaced clip-in blanks with suitable modular blanks
• Removed unsatisfactory external lighting from the property
• Installed one new outdoor flood light to improve external lighting coverage
• Disconnected the alarm panel due to visible signs of thermal damage
• Carried out final checks and issued a satisfactory report

Challenges & Solutions

• The installation required several remedial items after the EICR — The engineer worked through the required electrical safety actions and completed the upgrades in one coordinated visit.
• The upstairs lighting circuits required improved protection — A compatible Legrand 6A RCBO was supplied and fitted to support compliance and safe operation.
• External lighting was not in satisfactory condition — The old lighting was removed and replaced with a new outdoor flood light.
• The alarm panel showed signs of thermal damage — It was safely disconnected to prevent further risk and recorded as part of the remedial works.

Final Outcome

All agreed EICR remedial works were completed at the property. The consumer unit was updated, circuits were identified and labelled, unsuitable blanks were replaced, unsafe external lighting was removed, and a new outdoor flood light was installed.

The damaged alarm panel was safely disconnected, the installation was checked, and a satisfactory report was issued. The property was left safe, functional and compliant following the completed remedial works.
