Project Overview

British Builders attended a residential apartment on Cavendish Street, Sheffield, to complete a multi-task maintenance job involving appliance replacement, blind installation and a safety alarm upgrade. The main works focused on removing the old integrated fridge freezer and installing a new LOGIK LIFF5024 integrated 50/50 fridge freezer with sliding hinge fittings.

The photos show the kitchen appliance housing, the existing integrated fridge freezer position, the window area with curtains and blind fittings, and a ceiling-mounted alarm. Our engineer carried out the works carefully to protect the surrounding kitchen units, flooring and internal finishes, while also checking the new appliance alignment, door operation and general usability after installation.

As part of the same visit, additional internal maintenance works were completed, including fitting a new blind to the window area and installing a new heat alarm to improve safety provision within the property.

Scope of Work

• Inspected the existing integrated fridge freezer and surrounding kitchen housing before removal.

Challenges & Solutions

• The fridge freezer was integrated within a kitchen cabinet — the old unit was removed carefully to avoid damage to the surrounding panels and flooring.
• The new appliance required accurate alignment — the unit was positioned, levelled and adjusted so the doors opened and closed correctly.
• The sliding hinge fittings needed to work smoothly with the existing kitchen door arrangement — the hinges were installed and tested after fitting.
• The window area required an additional privacy solution — a new blind was securely fitted and checked for smooth operation.
• The property also required a safety alarm upgrade — a new heat alarm was installed and tested as part of the same visit.
• Multiple tasks were completed within one appointment — the engineer coordinated the appliance, blind and alarm works to leave the property ready for use.

Final Outcome

The old integrated fridge freezer was successfully removed and replaced with a new LOGIK LIFF5024 integrated 50/50 fridge freezer. The appliance was fitted into the existing kitchen housing, aligned correctly, connected and tested to confirm proper function.

The new blind was installed to the window area, improving privacy and control of light within the apartment. The heat alarm was also installed, adding an important safety upgrade to the property.

All fittings were checked during the final inspection, and the work areas were cleared of packaging, dust and waste materials. The completed job provided a practical improvement to the kitchen, window area and internal safety provision, with the property left clean, tidy and ready for tenant use.
