Project Overview

British Builders carried out a multi-area property refresh at Stoke Park Court in Guildford. The works covered several maintenance, cleaning and repair items across the kitchen, bathroom, lounge, hallway and bedroom areas, helping return the property to a cleaner, safer and more presentable condition.

The approved works included bathroom improvements, kitchen cleaning and descaling, extractor hood cleaning, mould treatment around window reveals, minor wall repainting, appliance cleaning, securing loose fittings and checking areas requiring further repair. Although each item was relatively small, the job required careful coordination across multiple rooms to complete the property refresh properly.

 

Scope of Work
  • Cleaned the washing machine door seal and detergent drawer to remove detergent residue and limescale build-up
  • Removed mould from the bedroom and kitchen window reveals
  • Treated affected areas with anti-fungal cleaner and repainted where required
  • Secured the Virgin Media box to the lounge wall using suitable fixings
  • Cleaned the kitchen ceiling light shade
  • Removed limescale from the kitchen draining board, sink and taps
  • Cleaned the oven door internally, removing crumbs and burnt-on residue
  • Cleaned and degreased the cooker extractor hood and filters
  • Removed the existing toilet seat and installed a new standard white soft-close toilet seat
  • Fitted a new shower curtain provided on site
  • Cleaned the toilet bowl, external toilet surfaces, bath area, taps, shower head and hose
  • Replaced or deep cleaned the sealant around the top of the bath using white bathroom silicone
  • Investigated loose floor tiles in front of the bath and noted the area for further quotation if required
  • Cleaned and tidied the work areas on completion

 

Challenges & Solutions
  • Multiple rooms required attention — The engineer worked through the property systematically, completing bathroom, kitchen, lounge and window-related tasks in one coordinated visit.
  • Mould was present around window reveals — Affected areas were cleaned, treated with anti-fungal solution and refreshed to reduce the risk of recurrence.
  • Limescale and grease build-up in the kitchen — The sink, draining board, taps, oven door and extractor filters were cleaned using suitable descaling and degreasing products.
  • Bathroom fittings required replacement and resealing — A new toilet seat was fitted, the shower curtain was replaced, and the bath sealant was cleaned or renewed to improve hygiene and water resistance.

 

Final Outcome

The approved works were completed successfully. The kitchen and bathroom areas were cleaned and refreshed, the new toilet seat and shower curtain were installed, mould-affected window areas were treated, and the lounge media box was secured.

The property was left cleaner, tidier and better maintained across all attended rooms. Any loose bathroom floor tile concerns were inspected and can be quoted separately if further repair is required.
