British Builders attended a residential property on Rockingham Lane, Sheffield, to complete a package of maintenance works involving gutter cleaning, window frame repair, window catch adjustment, and installation of a new blind. The works covered both exterior and interior areas of the property, helping to improve water drainage, window condition, security, and everyday usability.

The photos show a blocked roofline gutter with visible debris and staining, weathered timber sections around the window frame, areas requiring sanding and repainting, and an internal arched window where the new blind was installed. As part of the visit, our team carried out a more complete maintenance approach rather than only addressing one isolated item, ensuring the window and surrounding areas were left in a more reliable and presentable condition.

The job included clearing the gutter channel, checking water flow, repairing rotten or damaged timber sections, preparing and painting the frame, securing the window catch, fitting the blind, and completing final functionality checks.

Scope of Work

• Inspected the gutter line and identified debris, moss build-up, and areas affecting water flow.
• Removed leaves, dirt, plant matter, and general blockages from the gutter channel.
• Checked the gutter clips, joints, and visible roofline sections for signs of movement or damage.
• Flushed and checked the gutter route to confirm improved drainage performance.
• Inspected the external window frame, sill, and surrounding timber for rot and weather damage.
• Removed deteriorated timber sections from the affected window frame area.
• Prepared the window frame by cleaning, sanding, and treating the exposed sections.
• Installed replacement timber sections where required to restore the frame structure.
• Applied primer and weather-resistant paint to protect the repaired timber.
• Sealed vulnerable edges and joints to help reduce the risk of future water ingress.
• Checked the window catch and closure mechanism for alignment and secure operation.

Final Outcome

The gutter was cleared of debris and checked to ensure improved water flow along the roofline. This helped reduce the risk of overflow, staining, and further moisture problems around the exterior of the property.

The damaged window frame sections were repaired, treated, sealed, and painted to provide a cleaner and more durable finish. The window catch was also checked and secured, improving the closing function and helping the window remain properly positioned.
