Leak Repairs — Sheffield
Project Overview
British Builders attended a residential property on Cammell Road, Sheffield, to carry out leak repair and wall correction works after water from the upstairs bathroom had affected the kitchen below. The job involved plumbing inspection, waste pipe repairs, kitchen resealing, plastering, filling and repainting works across the affected areas.
The photos show the kitchen, worktop, sink area, washing machine location, back door area, bathroom fittings and exposed pipework behind the appliance space. Our operative accessed the affected sections, checked the plumbing and drainage routes, completed the required repairs and restored the visible surfaces as part of a wider property maintenance visit.
The work was treated as a multi-area repair, covering both the cause of the leak and the internal damage left behind.
Scope of Work
- Inspected the reported leak from the upstairs bathroom affecting the kitchen below.
- Checked the waste pipework, sink connections and drainage routes for signs of blockage, leakage and poor condition.
- Unblocked the affected waste pipework to restore correct flow.
- Repaired and replaced damaged or unsuitable waste pipe sections where required.
- Checked the kitchen sink trap and surrounding pipework for leaks after repair.
- Resealed the kitchen worktop junctions to improve water resistance and reduce the risk of further moisture damage.
- Prepared the damaged wall area behind the washing machine for repair.
- Corrected and plastered the affected wall surface beside the door and around the kitchen repair zones.
- Filled cracks and damaged sections in the kitchen and bathroom areas.
- Prepared repaired surfaces for decoration, including cleaning, smoothing and making good where needed.
- Repainted affected areas using a suitable finish, with a close colour match selected where exact paint was not available.
- Checked the surrounding kitchen fittings, door area and appliance space after completion.
- Removed repair waste, loose debris and leftover materials from the property.
- Completed final checks and left all work areas clean and tidy.
Challenges & Solutions
- The leak had affected more than one area, so the repair needed to address both the plumbing issue and the visible damage in the kitchen below.
- The pipework behind the washing machine and under the kitchen sink required careful access due to surrounding cabinets, appliances and existing fittings.
- The worktop edges and junctions needed resealing to help protect the kitchen surfaces from further water ingress.
- Existing cracks and damaged wall sections required filling, plastering and repainting to restore a clean finish.
Final Outcome
The leak issue was investigated and repaired, with the affected waste pipework unblocked and renewed where needed. The kitchen worktop was resealed, and the damaged wall areas were made good with plastering, filling and repainting works.
The kitchen and bathroom areas were checked after completion, and the property was left clean, tidy and ready for normal use.
