Project Overview

British Builders was appointed by Beactive Building Management to deliver a full refurbishment of a three-storey building in a prominent London location. The brief was to improve visual appeal for prospective tenants while upgrading the structure, services and fire safety to meet modern regulations within a tight 52-day programme.

Scope of Work

• Replacement of old windows with new energy-efficient PVC double-glazed units
• Full flat roof replacement with new insulated build-up to provide long-term watertight protection
• Removal of worn carpets and installation of heavy-duty vinyl flooring to communal areas and landings
• Installation of a new fire alarm system and emergency lighting throughout communal spaces
• Complete electrical rewire of communal corridors, including updated cabling, sockets and lighting to NICEIC standards

Challenges & Solutions

• Long-term deterioration of key building elements – Replaced leaking roof, drafty windows and worn carpets with robust, low-maintenance systems to extend building life and reduce running costs.
• Fire safety and compliance risk – Installed a modern fire alarm system and emergency lighting to bring the building in line with current regulations and best practice.

Final Outcome

The renovation project was completed on schedule and within budget constraints. According to our client, the outcome was satisfactory, and the client was extremely pleased. Renovating the property to a high standard enhanced its visual appearance and efficiency.
