Bath Replacement — Bradfield Road, Sheffield

Project Overview

British Builders completed plumbing and bathroom repair works at a residential property on Bradfield Road, Sheffield. The existing bath was cracked and required full removal, along with associated plumbing checks, waste replacement, new isolation valves, and finishing works around the bath area.

The work involved more than a simple like-for-like swap, as the surrounding boxing, pipework access, waste connections, and sealing areas also needed attention to ensure the new bath was properly fitted and watertight.

Scope of Work

• Carefully disconnected and removed the damaged cracked bath
• Detached existing pipework, fittings, bath waste and overflow connections
• Cleared damaged materials and prepared the area for the new installation
• Checked the surrounding frame, wall edges and pipework access before refitting
• Supplied and installed a new standard bath, levelled and secured in position
• Installed a new bath waste set, including overflow and plug mechanism
• Fitted new isolation valves to hot and cold water feeds for easier future maintenance
• Installed a new side trim panel to conceal exposed framework and pipework
• Resealed the full bath and shower perimeter using mould-resistant waterproof silicone
• Tested all plumbing connections to confirm correct flow and no leaks
• Cleaned the bathroom area and removed installation waste from site

Challenges & Solutions

• The existing bath was damaged and needed careful removal without causing further disruption to the surrounding tiled area.
• Access to the waste and pipework required preparation before the new bath could be installed securely.
• The new bath was levelled, sealed and tested to provide a reliable watertight finish.

Final Outcome

The cracked bath was fully replaced with a new securely fitted bath, complete with new waste fittings, isolation valves, side trim panel and waterproof sealing. The bathroom was left clean, functional and ready for use.
