Bathroom and Brick Repairs — Lincoln

Project Overview

British Builders attended a residential property on Claudius Road, North Hykeham, Lincoln, to complete a small package of bathroom, painting, and external brickwork repairs. The bathroom works focused on replacing two worn and corroded shower heads, checking the fittings, and confirming proper water flow after installation.

Additional maintenance was carried out beneath the boiler, where the wall surface required preparation and repainting due to staining and flaking paint. Externally, the photos show a brick boundary area where missing or damaged bricks required replacement to improve the finish and protect the surrounding brickwork. The job was completed as a coordinated maintenance visit, covering both internal repair items and external making-good works.

Scope of Work
  • Removed and disposed of two existing damaged and corroded shower heads.
  • Supplied and installed two new chrome-effect standard shower heads.
  • Checked the shower fittings and surrounding sealant areas for secure installation.
  • Tested both showers for correct water flow and pressure after replacement.
  • Cleaned, scraped, and sanded the wall area beneath the boiler.
  • Treated visible staining and prepared the surface for repainting.
  • Applied primer or stain block where required before final decoration.
  • Applied two coats of moisture-resistant paint to the prepared wall area.
  • Prepared the external brickwork area and supplied three matching bricks.
  • Installed the new bricks using suitable mortar and tooled the joints to blend with the existing brickwork.
  • Cleaned off mortar residue and removed waste materials from the work areas.

Challenges & Solutions
  • Corroded shower heads — both were removed and replaced with new fittings, then tested for reliable operation.
  • Marked wall beneath the boiler — the surface was cleaned, prepared, primed where needed, and repainted with moisture-resistant paint.
  • External brickwork needed matching — replacement bricks were installed carefully to align with the existing wall and provide a tidy finish.
  • Mixed internal and external work areas — the tasks were completed as one organised maintenance package to reduce disruption.

Final Outcome

The bathroom fittings were refreshed with two new shower heads, improving both appearance and function. The wall beneath the boiler was prepared and repainted with a more durable finish suitable for a utility-style area.

The external brick repairs were completed using matching bricks and appropriate mortar, leaving the brickwork secure and visually tidier. All work areas were cleaned down, waste was removed, and the property was left ready for normal use.
