Bathroom Wall Panels — Boston

Project Overview

British Builders completed bathroom wall refurbishment works at a residential property on National Terrace, Boston. The existing tiled wall finish around the bath had deteriorated over time, with aged grout lines, damaged adhesive and worn finishes affecting both the appearance and long-term waterproof protection of the bathing area.

To modernise the bathroom while improving durability, the existing wall tiles were removed and replaced with decorative waterproof PVC wall panels. The installation created a smooth, low-maintenance finish with neatly trimmed edges and professionally sealed joints around the bath.

Scope of Work
  • Removed existing ceramic wall tiles surrounding the bath area.
  • Disposed of all demolition materials and construction waste responsibly.
  • Prepared the wall surfaces by removing remaining tile adhesive and loose material.
  • Inspected and levelled the installation area to provide a suitable substrate for the new wall finish.
  • Supplied and installed decorative waterproof PVC wall panels across the full bath surround.
  • Installed matching corner trims and finishing profiles for a clean professional appearance.
  • Applied high-quality sanitary-grade silicone around the bath perimeter and panel joints to create a watertight seal.
  • Checked all panel joints, trims and edges for secure fixing and consistent alignment.
  • Cleaned the bathroom thoroughly and removed all installation debris on completion.

Challenges & Solutions
  • Removing the existing tiled finish required careful preparation to minimise damage to the underlying walls before fitting the new waterproof system.
  • Areas around the window reveal and bath edges required accurate trimming to achieve a neat, continuous finish.
  • All joints were finished using sanitary silicone to improve moisture resistance and help prevent future water ingress behind the wall panels.
  • The decorative PVC system was carefully aligned to provide a seamless appearance while significantly reducing future maintenance requirements.

Final Outcome

The bathroom has been transformed with a modern waterproof wall panel system that delivers a brighter appearance and a durable finish around the bath. Replacing the tiled surface with decorative PVC panels has improved water protection, reduced maintenance requirements and created a clean, contemporary look throughout the bathing area.

All work was completed to a high standard, with the property left clean, tidy and ready for immediate use.
