EICR Remedials β€” Leeds

Project Overview

British Builders completed electrical remedial works at a property on North Way, Roundhay, Leeds, following a recent Electrical Installation Condition Report. The report identified several C2 and FI items that required attention to improve safety and bring the installation closer to current compliance standards.

The photos show bonding works, external cabling, a replacement front lantern light, exposed brickwork areas, socket work and electrical containment. Although the works were carried out as a maintenance job, they involved multiple areas of the property, including internal sockets, lighting circuits, external lighting, loose cabling and service bonding.

Scope of Work
  • Reviewed the EICR findings and identified the required remedial electrical works.
  • Installed main protective bonding to the gas and water services in line with BS 7671 requirements.
  • Applied clear labelling at the bonding points for future inspection and maintenance.
  • Installed and repaired CPC connections to lighting circuits where required.
  • Corrected live sleeving issues at switch terminals.
  • Replaced the existing front external lantern with a new enclosed IP-rated LED fitting.
  • Investigated additional external lighting faults and repaired or isolated affected items where necessary.
  • Secured loose and exposed cabling to the front elevation, under-stairs area, rear exterior wall and outhouse.
  • Replaced degraded cable sections where required for safety.
  • Completed lighting circuit rewiring where the existing circuit lacked suitable CPC protection.
  • Replaced one faulty lounge socket and adjusted socket positions where required.
  • Added circuit labelling to the consumer unit following completion of bonding and remedial works.

Challenges & Solutions
  • The EICR identified both C2 and FI items across different areas of the property β€” the works were grouped and completed as a structured remedial package.
  • Loose and exposed cabling was present externally and within service areas β€” cables were secured, clipped and protected where required.
  • The external lantern and related lighting required safer weather protection β€” a new enclosed IP-rated LED fitting was installed.
  • Older lighting circuits required improved protective continuity β€” CPC repairs and rewiring were completed where needed.

Final Outcome

The electrical remedial works were completed to address the key safety issues raised in the EICR. Bonding was improved, lighting circuit issues were corrected, exposed cabling was secured, and the external light was replaced with a safer enclosed fitting.

The property was left in a safer and more compliant condition, with final checks carried out and the work areas left clean and tidy. Following completion, the installation was ready for updated certification and compliance review.
