Project Overview

British Builders completed a fire door replacement and certified installation at a property on Commonside, Sheffield. The existing entrance fire door and frame required removal due to damage and poor condition around the frame, with the new installation needing to meet current fire safety requirements.

The work included careful removal of the old door set, preparation of the opening, installation of a new like-for-like fire-rated door, fitting compliant ironmongery and adjusting the door to ensure correct closing, alignment and safe everyday use.

Scope of Work

• Removed the existing fire door and damaged frame components
• Prepared the doorway and surrounding opening for the new installation
• Supplied and fitted a new fire-rated replacement door
• Installed CE marked hinges, locks and suitable door hardware
• Fitted and adjusted a compliant self-closing device
• Installed a fire-rated door viewer where required

Final Outcome

The fire door was successfully replaced with a new compliant installation, including certified hinges, lock components, self-closing device and fire-rated fittings. The frame and architrave were reinstated securely, and the door was tested for closing, latching and correct alignment.

A final inspection was completed, and certification was provided to confirm the installation met the required fire safety standards. The work area was cleared, and all waste materials were removed from site.
