Kitchen Window Replacement — Doncaster Terrace, Nottingham

Project Overview

British Builders completed a kitchen window replacement at a residential property on Doncaster Terrace, Nottingham. The existing window was carefully removed and replaced with a made-to-measure uPVC unit, improving insulation, security, ventilation and the overall external appearance of the property.

Although focused on the kitchen window, the work required careful preparation, removal, fitting, sealing and making good around both internal and external finishes to ensure a clean and durable result.

Scope of Work

• Inspected the existing kitchen window and surrounding brickwork/opening
• Carefully removed the old window, trims, fixings and associated materials
• Supplied a made-to-measure uPVC replacement window
• Installed double-glazed safety glass with a secure opening system
• Fitted the new frame level, plumb and securely within the existing opening
• Sealed all internal and external edges with weatherproof sealant
• Made good surrounding areas affected by the window replacement
• Cleaned the window, frame and immediate work area after installation
• Removed and disposed of the old window and waste materials from site

Challenges & Solutions

• The existing window had to be removed without damaging the surrounding brickwork — The frame was taken out carefully and the opening was prepared before installation.
• The new unit needed to sit correctly within the original structural opening — The frame was aligned, fixed and checked for level before sealing.
• External weather protection was essential — All edges were sealed using suitable weatherproof materials to prevent draughts and moisture ingress.

Final Outcome

The kitchen was left with a new secure uPVC double-glazed window, neatly fitted and fully sealed inside and outside. The replacement improved the property’s insulation, ventilation and external finish while keeping the installation clean and in line with the existing building appearance.

All waste was removed from site and the surrounding area was left clean and tidy.
