Living Room Restoration β€” Club Street, Sheffield

Project Overview

British Builders carried out living room restoration works at a residential property on Club Street, Sheffield. The room required attention due to visible staining, mould marks, tired wall surfaces and general wear around the living area, skirting lines, corners and window-side sections.

The works included cleaning affected surfaces, treating areas where mould and staining were present, preparing the walls for decoration, repainting with suitable protective coatings and removing unwanted furniture from the room. Although the visible damage was localised in places, the room was treated as a wider restoration task to improve the overall presentation and hygiene of the space.

Scope of Work
  • Inspected the living room walls, corners, skirting lines and window-side areas before starting the works.
  • Removed loose debris, surface dust and visible contaminants from the affected wall areas.
  • Cleaned mould-affected hard surfaces using a suitable detergent and water solution.
  • Allowed treated areas to dry properly before primer and decoration works continued.
  • Prepared marked, stained and previously affected wall sections for repainting.
  • Applied a mould-resistant primer to help block remaining stains and reduce the risk of future mould showing through.
  • Repainted the living room walls using mould-resistant paint for a cleaner and more durable finish.
  • Blended repaired and repainted sections with the surrounding wall areas where possible.
  • Removed unwanted sofas and loose items from the living room area for disposal.
  • Collected and cleared waste materials generated during mould treatment, preparation and furniture removal.
  • Carried out a final clean-down so the living room was left tidy and ready for use.

Challenges & Solutions
  • Visible mould and staining were present in several areas β€” affected surfaces were cleaned, dried and sealed before repainting.
  • Some marks were located around corners, skirting and window-side sections β€” these areas were carefully prepared to improve the final finish.
  • The room required both cleaning and decoration β€” the work was completed as a combined restoration rather than a simple paint touch-up.
  • Furniture removal was required before final handover β€” unwanted items were cleared so the room could be left open, clean and usable.

Final Outcome

The living room was restored to a cleaner and more presentable condition. Mould-affected and stained areas were treated, the walls were prepared and repainted, and the room was improved with a fresh protective finish.

All waste and removed furniture were cleared from the property, and the living room was left tidy, sanitary and ready for immediate use.
