Mixed Works — Sheffield
Project Overview
British Builders completed a mixed maintenance package at a property on Longley Lane, Sheffield. The works focused on improving the overall internal condition of the property through carpet deep cleaning, kitchen extractor hood cleaning, and preparation and repainting of the kitchen walls and ceiling.
The photos show a domestic kitchen with a large cooker and extractor hood, painted wall and ceiling areas, and carpeted hallway and stair sections requiring attention. Although the work was not a major refurbishment, it required a structured approach across several areas to improve cleanliness, presentation, and day-to-day usability of the property.
Scope of Work
- Inspected the designated carpeted areas, including hallway and stair sections, before cleaning.
- Deep cleaned the carpets to remove visible dirt, marks and odours.
- Cleaned and refreshed the stair and landing carpet areas as part of the internal maintenance works.
- Cleaned the kitchen extractor hood, including accessible filters and visible grease build-up.
- Checked the extractor hood area to ensure it was left clean and suitable for continued use.
- Prepared kitchen wall and ceiling surfaces before painting.
- Repainted the kitchen walls and ceiling using a durable, washable finish suitable for kitchen conditions.
- Protected surrounding kitchen units, worktops and appliances during the works.
- Completed a final clean-down of the working areas before handover.
Challenges & Solutions
- The carpets showed signs of regular use in high-traffic areas — they were deep cleaned to improve freshness and appearance.
- The extractor hood had grease and staining around the filter area — accessible components were cleaned to restore a tidier finish.
- The kitchen required a practical finish suitable for daily use — washable paint was applied to improve durability.
- Works were carried out around existing kitchen fittings and furniture — surrounding areas were protected and cleaned down on completion.
Final Outcome
The property was left in a cleaner and more presentable condition following the combined maintenance works. The carpets were refreshed, the kitchen extractor hood was cleaned, and the kitchen walls and ceiling were repainted with a neat, practical finish.
All designated work areas were checked, cleaned and left tidy on completion, helping improve the overall condition and usability of the property.
