Client Feedback

Roof Works — Clowne
Project Overview
British Builders completed roof repair works at a property on Ringer Way, Clowne. The lower section of the main roof required attention, including the removal of the bottom rows of tiles and battens to improve protection around the eaves area.
The works included installing new eaves protection trays, breathable roofing membrane and treated timber battens across the lower roof section. The existing roof tiles were then carefully refitted, and the gutters were cleared to support proper water flow and help prevent future moisture-related issues.
Scope of Work
- Removed the bottom four rows of roof tiles from the main roof
- Removed old and affected battens from the lower roof section
- Prepared the exposed eaves area for new protection works
- Supplied and installed new eaves protection trays
- Installed breathable roofing membrane to the bottom metre of the roof
- Supplied and fitted new treated timber battens
- Refitted the existing roof tiles securely onto the new battens
- Checked tile alignment and roof edge condition
- Cleaned out the gutters along the affected roofline
- Removed waste materials and left the site tidy
Challenges & Solutions
- The lower roof edge showed signs of deterioration — The affected section was opened up and renewed with proper eaves protection.
- Old battens were no longer suitable — New treated timber battens were installed to provide a stronger base for the tiles.
- The roof needed improved weather protection — A breathable membrane was fitted across the bottom metre of the main roof.
- Gutters contained debris from the roof works — All gutters were cleaned out before completion to maintain correct drainage.
Final Outcome
The lower section of the main roof was repaired and strengthened with new eaves trays, breathable membrane and treated timber battens. Existing tiles were refitted neatly, helping restore the roofline and improve protection against water ingress.
The gutters were cleared, all waste was removed from site, and the work area was left clean and tidy. The completed works provide a more reliable roof edge and better long-term weather protection for the property.
