Shower Room Upgrade — Bristol
Project Overview
Job Number: JOB-66774
British Builders completed shower room upgrade works at a residential property on Cranbourne Road, Patchway, Bristol. The existing shower area required replacement of the old shower tray and enclosure, with attention also given to the surrounding tiled areas, silicone joints and shower trap connection.
The works focused on improving the function, appearance and water resistance of the shower room. The old tray and screen were removed, the installation area was prepared, and new shower screen panels, doors and tray components were fitted with fresh silicone sealing to create a clean and reliable finish.
Scope of Work
- Removed the existing shower tray from the shower enclosure area.
- Removed the old shower screen, panels, doors and associated framework.
- Cleared old silicone, loose material and debris from around the tray and tiled edges.
- Prepared the shower base area ready for the new tray installation.
- Supplied and installed a new shower tray into the existing shower room layout.
- Checked and connected the shower trap as part of the tray replacement works.
- Supplied and fitted new shower screen panels and doors.
- Replaced local tiles around the shower tray where required.
- Applied fresh sanitary silicone around the tray, trap area and shower screen edges.
- Checked the new screen alignment, door movement and secure fixing points.
- Tested the shower area for correct drainage and signs of leakage.
- Cleaned the bathroom and removed all waste materials on completion.
Challenges & Solutions
- The existing shower tray and screen needed to be removed without causing unnecessary disturbance to the surrounding tiled walls — the area was carefully stripped and prepared before replacement.
- Waterproofing around the tray was a key concern — fresh sanitary silicone was applied around all critical joints to help prevent future water ingress.
- The new screen panels and doors had to suit the existing shower room layout — the frame was aligned and fixed securely for smooth operation.
- Local tile replacement was required around the tray — affected areas were repaired to create a neat and consistent finish.
Final Outcome
The shower room was successfully upgraded with a new tray, new shower screen panels, replacement doors and fresh silicone sealing throughout the required areas. The installation has improved the appearance of the room while providing a cleaner, more reliable shower enclosure for daily use.
All works were completed with care, including local tile replacement, trap connection checks and final clean-down. The shower room was left tidy, functional and ready for normal use.
