Wall Repair and Paint Touch Up — Sheffield
Project Overview
British Builders completed a set of internal maintenance works at a property on Netherfield Road, Sheffield. The work covered wall repair and paint touch-ups across two upstairs bedrooms, the kitchen, and the living room, with additional attention given to a loose stair handrail.
The photos show several internal wall areas with previous marks, small fixing holes, surface patching, and areas requiring finishing. The work was carried out as a practical property maintenance package, focused on restoring the walls to a more presentable condition while improving the stability and safety of the existing handrail.
Scope of Work
- Inspected the designated wall areas across the upstairs bedrooms, kitchen and living room.
- Cleaned the wall surfaces to remove dust and loose surface contamination before repair.
- Removed visible nails, screws and redundant wall fixings where required.
- Filled holes, small dents and damaged areas using suitable interior filler.
- Allowed filled areas to dry before sanding them smooth and level with the surrounding wall surface.
- Carried out paint touch-ups using a colour matched or close match finish to blend repaired sections.
- Tightened existing handrail screws, bolts and fixings to reduce movement.
- Added support where required using shims, wedges or additional hardware to improve stability.
- Completed minor surface repairs linked to previous loose fixings and movement.
- Cleaned and tidied the working areas after completion.
Challenges & Solutions
- Several walls had small holes and visible fixing marks — these were filled, sanded and touched up to create a cleaner finish.
- The existing wall colours needed to be matched as closely as possible — paint touch-ups were carried out carefully to help the repairs blend with the surrounding surfaces.
- The stair handrail showed signs of movement — fixings were tightened and reinforced where needed to improve safety and durability.
- Works were spread across multiple rooms — each area was completed in stages to keep the property tidy and manageable during the job.
Final Outcome
The internal walls were repaired, sanded and touched up across the required areas, leaving the rooms in a cleaner and more presentable condition. The stair handrail was also checked, tightened and reinforced where necessary to improve day-to-day safety.
All waste and loose materials were removed from the work areas, and the property was left clean and tidy on completion.
